As Catholics, we truly believe that the Eucharist is the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ. The Eucharist is where our entire life finds it's purpose, meaning, and unity. In being prepared for their First Communion, your child will discover the loving presence of God and the value of their life, when it is lived in communion with Jesus. We invite you and your child to come to Sunday Mass as they prepare for their First Communion to give thanks for all of God's gifts and to learn how to share them in love.
Your child will experience their First Reconciliation before their First Communion. This year it takes place on November 28 & 29 for students from Holy Name School. For all other students, it will take place on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 10 a.m. in the Church. Children must receive First Reconciliation before they are able to receive their First Communion. If your child has not received their First Reconciliation and would like to receive their First Communion in the spring, please contact Fr. Dave to arrange a time.
If your child attends Holy Name they will start preparing for their First Communion at school after Christmas. If your child does not attend Holy Name please contact the office to pick up a preparation package. Only baptized Catholics may receive First Reconciliation and First Communion. If your child is not baptized please contact Fr. Dave to discuss this further.
The enrollment Ceremony is the weekend of January 25 & 26, 2020 during the Mass you attend. This is a great way to connect your child to the entire parish community and it offers our parish community an opportunity to pray for your child as they prepare for their First Communion.
First Communions take place at each Mass during the 4 weeks after Easter. To begin preparing your child for their First Communion please fill out the form below.
